Every boat day started with a little chaos-too many hands and not enough patience at the boat launch. But once we were out there-past the docks, past the cursing—it all quieted.
The river would settle like it knew you needed a break. Mornings like that felt like pressing pause on the world... at least until you got home and had to brush out all the salty knots from your hair.
From the artist: Indigo & Iron is Charleston as I remember it. It’s about the details that stick with you: iron gates, roadside boiled peanuts, and the feel of the marsh air. Each piece includes three miniature oil paintings on historic Mobile Bay pottery fragments, hand-collected along the Eastern Shore and displayed in brass and glass shadow box.
